What to do when you crave cookies in the afternoon…(even morning and evening too?)…and want to eat healthy? Try Dr. Vincent Pedre’s Apple Cookies! A whole new way to see “cookies”!

As demo’d by Dr. Pedre on the Dr. Oz show, apple cookies give us the crunch, the sweetness and the savory all at once, satisfying our desires, as well as being healthy. A great way to curb a craving while you sneak in some fiber and prebiotics into your diet.

Dr. Pedre’s Apple Cookies

Makes 6 servings, 157 calories

Ingredients

  • 1 green apple
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped walnuts
  • 1 tbsp slivered almonds
  • 1 tbsp roasted pumpkin seeds

Step 1

Cut the apple into flat slices and spread out on a serving plate.

Step 2

Top each slice evenly with almond butter.

Step 3

Top the apple slices alternating between the walnuts, almonds, and pumpkin seeds for three varieties.

And there you have it…a healthy and tasty cookie!
